What it is

The problem it solves

Happy customers do not leave reviews on their own. Annoyed ones do. That is not cynicism, it is just that satisfaction is quiet and irritation is motivated, and it is why a business doing good work for years can sit on a handful of reviews with two bad ones near the top.

The other half is timing. Most owners do ask, eventually, which usually means a week later when the job is no longer on the customer's mind and the message reads like a favour. The window where somebody will actually do it is short and it closes while you are already on the next job.

How it works in practice

When a job is marked finished, that customer gets asked. Not a week later, and not by you remembering. The ask is short, it is in your name, and it goes to the place a review actually counts.

When a review lands, a reply is drafted for it, including the ones you would rather not have received. A profile with a considered answer under a two-star review reads very differently to a visitor than a profile where nobody replied, and that is a job most owners keep meaning to do.
